It is with much sadness that we must report the passing of John Heath.

'Heber' was the backbone of our club for many, many years, serving as President and, before that, as Chair. He also held various Executive Committee posts and was a team captain. John proved an excellent sounding board for future Chairmen and a fine mentor as we built on his incredible legacy – he was wise, had the ability to ask just the right questions, and would offer great advice.

John was an innovator – he brought Astroturf hockey to our Tiverton home, even completing a parachute jump as part of the fundraising; he had a passion for Junior Development, including Sunday Morning Training, the creation of Badgers & Beavers, junior competitions across Cheshire, and the Primary Schools’ Outreach Programme; and he was an excellent tourist and initiated - and enjoyed - our springtime trips to Guernsey, Jersey, and Gibraltar.

He will be much missed, but will not be forgotten.
