Developing the next generation of coaches, umpires and volunteers. The scheme will progress through bronze, silver and gold aimed at different age groups and commitment levels. All stages will include training, mentoring and opportunities to practice the skills gained.
Bronze Award
Pre requisites:
Age 11 – 14 years (school years 6 – 9)
Interested in coaching, umpiring or running club events (fundraising/administration)
Commit to six training sessions between April 2024 and March 2025 to gain knowledge and practical skills. (Mainly during school holidays, some evenings, approx. 3 hours)
To volunteer some time between September – March at either junior coaching sessions, fundraising/social events, tournaments etc.
Engage with ongoing mentoring and support whilst volunteering.
Cost £10 per 3 hour session (6 sessions per year)
What the programme consists of:
Six club based training sessions to gain skills in coaching, umpiring and running events. Including organising an event to be held at the club (under 8s tournament).
Complete the introduction to umpiring course, online during one of these sessions.
Mentoring between September to March to implement skills gained, including regular meet ups as a group to share experiences.
Meaningful volunteer opportunities within the club with skills gained to be used in many spaces.
Participation certificate, sign off for DofE, references etc.
Young Leaders Award social event at the end of the year.
Opportunity to move to Silver Award to include umpiring and coaching qualifications.

The first session will be running on Tuesday 9th April 1.00 – 4.00pm. If you can not attend this session please still register your interest for future sessions.
